My daughter has an extra wide foot which makes it very difficult to find her shoes. She usually has to go up a half of a size to fit into the regular wide. Stride Rite had two styles in a regular width. Neither fit properly. I ordered two sizes of these shoes and the 2W fit very well. She absolutely loves them and they look great with her communion dress. With her thin ankles, the strap prevents her from flipping out of the back of the shoe.
